Actress Amy Acker was born on December 5, 1976 in Dallas, Texas. Amy Acker is the oldest of four children she has two sisters and one brother. Amy studied dance for 13 years before she went into acting. She studied ballet, jazz and modern dance and then was forced to give up dancing after undergoing knee surgery. Amy acted in several college theater productions. Amy Acker earned a bachelor’s degree in theater from Southern Methodist University. She had a short stint as a model. She first appeared on television in 1995, when she played several characters in the children’s series Wishbone. In 2001, she joined the cast of the hit series Angel, where she played Winifred Burke. Her most recent project is in the drama series Dollhouse, where she has a recurring role as doll watcher Claire Saunders. Amy enjoys traveling, reading and yoga when not working.
